Pennsylvania Woman Injured in Hit-and-Run Truck Accident

When you think about truck accidents, you probably envision a collision between a massive tractor-trailer and a small passenger vehicle. However, commercial trucks of shapes and sizes can cause a lot of physical damage when a collision occurs. Even smaller box trucks used by local businesses or utility companies can cause victims to suffer serious injuries in a crash.

Recently, a 59-year-old Pennsylvania woman suffered severe injuries when a box truck caused a multi-vehicle crash near Hamburg on Interstate 78 West. To make matters worse, the box vehicle fled the scene of the truck accident without stopping.

According to reports, the box truck attempted to pass an SUV driven by the injured woman. During the attempt, the truck struck the SUV, which caused the smaller vehicle to collide with a large semi truck and then crash into a concrete barrier.

Reportedly, the box truck struck the concrete barrier as well, but its driver failed to stop when the crash occurred. At the time of the news report, the state police were still actively searching for the truck driver.

The driver of the tractor-trailer suffered no injuries in the collision, but the female victim suffered severe damage to one of her hands according to the report. An ambulance transported the victim to Lehigh Valley Hospital.

When the driver responsible for a crash leaves the scene of a truck accident, it demonstrates an enormous lack of care for humankind.

If the victim decides to pursue legal action targeting the responsible driver, the decision to flee will likely play a critical role in the case’s outcome. An attorney may be able to use the motorist’s blatant disregard for the safety of others to help the victim secure financial compensation.
