If you have been charged with a sex crime, this is as serious as it gets. Courts routinely impose the stiffest penalties for these offenses, and Bucks and Montgomery County Judges are no different. Sex related crimes also require registration pursuant to SORNA (Sex Offender Registration and Notification Act). Those required to register pursuant to SORNA find it very difficult to maintain gainful employment, find housing, and even parent their child. From possession of child pornography to sexual assault acts such as groping, fondling, and rape, the definition, severity of the crime, and available defenses vary depending on a wide array of factors. If you or a loved one has been charged with child pornography or sexual assault in Bucks or Montgomery County, you need a skilled criminal defense attorney who knows the law, understands the issues, recognizes the emotional component and is well skilled in appearing before our judges and interacting with our prosecutors.
At Goldman Law Offices, we will protect your constitutional rights and aggressively represent your interests to ensure that we achieve the best possible outcome for your case.

Sexual Assault In Pennsylvania
In Pennsylvania, sexual assault is defined as engaging in sexual intercourse or deviate sexual intercourse without consent, and is charged as a second degree felony. However, sex crimes can encompass more than the claims of unwanted sexual intercourse or deviate sexual intercourse. You can learn more about sexual assault in Pennsylvania here.
Child Pornography (Sexual Abuse of Children)
This is a scary charge. In most cases of child pornography, there is no complaining witness or victim. The Commonwealth employs special investigators that have software designed to find and track known images of child pornography. When they find these suspected images, they subpoena internet providers to determine the owner of the IP address. Investigators then appear at your door with a search warrant, and, in some cases, already have the suspected images of child pornography in their possession. A conviction for child pornography requires registration pursuant to SORNA and in many cases significant time in prison.
Just because you or a loved one is charged with possession of child pornography does not mean the charges cannot be defended. The warrant used to search your computer and seize property and other images is required to be carefully written. If the police did not have probable cause to obtain the warrant, you can argue to have ALL of the evidence against you excluded from the case. Moreover, the Commonwealth must also establish you or your loved one was the person that actually downloaded or transmitted the suspected image of child pornography. There are several documented cases where individuals used a person’s internet without their knowledge to download the illegal images. It is the District Attorney’s burden to prove that did not happen.
